This two-day workshop covers the foundational concepts of electric motors and industrial transformers. The course also includes numerous exercises and examples. Participants who complete this course can expect to gain knowledge and learn skills useful in an industrial environment.
Objectives:
• Explain the operation and usage of motor control circuits including circuit protection, full voltage starters, soft starts, and reversing starters.
• Describe the use of motor nameplates Motor torque curves
• Explain the functionality and construction of single phase and polyphase AC motors, DC motors, and servos.
• Describe the basic operation of VFDs
• List basic principles of troubleshooting AC motors.
• Explain the operating principles of a transformer.
• Interpret a transformer nameplate.
• Describe the different ways a transformer can be wired.
Intended audience: Appropriate for all levels; it is recommended that participants possess good math skills and have completed Part 1.
Workshop length: 2 days – 8:00AM – 4:00PM
Cost: $600 (after 1/23/25, the price increases to $620)
